Professor David Bradshaw

bradshaw

We are very sorry to announce that David Bradshaw, Professor in the Faculty and Fellow of Worcester College, died after many months of illness, borne with immense fortitude, on September 13th.  David was a much-loved colleague, a prominent figure within both Oxford and the discipline at large. He was a brilliant scholar of English modernist literature; an enthusing and vivid lecturer and tutor; a tolerant, wise, and supportive senior member of the Faculty; and a dynamic and vital presence in our lives. I am sure that many former students will be sad, with us, at the passing of such a vivid, funny, and inspiring man.

David's funeral, which will include literary readings to celebrate his life, will take place just across from Worcester College cricket field of which he had many happy memories: in the church of St Barnabas (Cardigan Street, Jericho, OX2 6BG, with thanks to the vicar) at 1.30pm on Friday 7 October.
