Dr Oliver Cox

Dr Oliver Cox, Heritage Engagement Fellow in TORCH and Co-Lead of the Oxford University Heritage Network, has been appointed as a Trustee to the Churches Conservation Trust (CCT).

The CCT is the national charity saving historic churches at risk. It has saved over 350 buildings which attract almost 2 million visitors a year.

Dr Cox said: "I’m hugely excited to join the CCT to help further develop the organisation’s links with universities. The future of the historic parish church is one of the most pressing heritage issues of our time, and I’m convinced that collaborations across sectors will be key to ensuring a sustainable future."

The Trust's announcement said: "Oliver is an academic historian. As Heritage Engagement Fellow, he leads Oxford University’s Humanities Division’s engagement with both the UK and international heritage sectors. He has a strong understanding of the role of church buildings at the heart of local communities and has a wealth of experience and connections in the academic sector."
