Five Humanities nominees shortlisted for the Vice-Chancellor's Awards 2024

Many congratulations to the five nominees from across the Humanities division who have been announced on the shortlist for the Vice-Chancellor’s Awards 2024.

The awards recognise the successes and achievements of colleagues from across the University who have gone ‘above and beyond to contribute to Oxford’s mission.’ This year, there were 250 award entries with the nominations comprising of 1,500 individuals.

The nominees were assessed by judging panels from the central University, divisions, colleges and GLAM. The projects, activities and individuals nominated from the Humanities Division are as follows:

  • The Humanities Division has been nominated for the Support for Students Award for Heritage Pathways: supporting student development through training and sector engagement.
  • The Faculty of Theology and Religion has been nominated for the Inclusive Teaching and Assessment Award for Diversifying the Curriculum in Biblical Studies at Oxford.
  • The Ten-Minute Book Club has been nominated for the Community Partnership Award
  • The Cultural Programme has been nominated for the Environmental Sustainability Award for their Everything is Connected season.
  • Dr Sarah Cullinan-Herring, Faculty of Classics, has been nominated for the Commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Award for the seminar, Taboos and Transition.

The winners and highly commended nominees of the 10 categories will be announced at an awards ceremony, hosted by Vice-Chancellor Professor Irene Tracey, at the Sheldonian Theatre on Wednesday 8 May.
