Times Higher Education profiles Oxford's Value of the Humanities report

Oxford University released a report last month which showed that studying the humanities benefits young people's future careers and wider society, despite the challenges of COVID-19 and employment changes.

The Times Higher Education has since covered the report in an article entitled "Humanities scholars fight back as cuts approach ‘tipping point’".

Professor Dan Grimley, Head of Humanities at Oxford University, told the magazine that studying the humanities can "equip students for the exceptional challenges of the contemporary job market in ways that they demonstrably go into high-earning careers across a range of sectors,"

Alexandra Vincent, Divisional Registrar in the Humanities Division, added: "There is an issue that a lot of the people reflecting and controlling the narrative probably have a view of an arts and humanities degree that goes back decades. But these courses have evolved, they have kept up with business and are making sure the cohorts of today are developing skills that are needed both now and in the future."
