Humanities Division joins city’s first-ever OxTrail

We are proud to announce that the Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities has partnered with Green Templeton College to support OxTrail, an initiative that will see over 30 life-sized ox sculptures take over the streets of Oxford to raise money for Sobell House Hospice Charity.

This huge art installation event is being brought to Oxford by Sobell House Hospice with Wild in Art. Through our sponsorship, we are supporting the Oxfordshire hospice charity and backing an event that will bring the community together and encourage tourism in Oxford. At the conclusion of the display all sculptures will be auctioned off to raise money for the hospice.

Our ox will be on show outside the Radcliffe Observatory from Saturday 6 July until the end of August 2024.

Amelia Foster, CEO at Sobell House Hospice Charity, said:

Across eight weeks, OxTrail will encourage locals and visitors of all ages to explore Oxford’s iconic attractions and find some hidden gems. It’ll be a huge event for the city but one we would not be able to do without the fantastic support and sponsorship from local partners such as the University of Oxford Humanities Division.
