Film Programming Opportunity in the Schwarzman Centre Cinema

Call for proposals for 2026/27

Film Programming Opportunity in the Schwarzman Centre Cinema

The Cultural Programme at the Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities invites proposals from researchers and students for film programming during 2026/27 connected to humanities research.

Proposals can be for one-off screenings or for series in the Schwarzman Centre Cinema and can include additional activity such as Q&A/in-conversation moments, live performance, or other associated activity.  The embedding of screenings into the life of the Schwarzman Centre, the University and the city through collaboration with partners is a priority.

Interdisciplinary proposals are welcome, including collaborations with colleagues beyond the humanities.

Each project will be led by the proposer, with project management support from the Schwarzman Centre’s Cultural Programme, Operations and Marketing teams.

Modest project budgets are available - some events are likely to be cost neutral after box office is taken into account - while more complicated events or series will require investment in the low thousands.

The Cultural Programme is planning seasons of activity during 26/27 on utopia (MT26) and planetary health (TT27).  Proposals do not need to align with these themes, but please advise if they do.
