It is expected that the next call for the Britisih Academy International Fellowships will open in early- to mid-January 2027, and close in early- to mid-March 2027.
The University is limited to submitting a maximum of eight candidates, and therefore there will be an internal selection stage, and the deadline for expressions of interest is likely to be towards the end of November 2026. Further details will appear here shortly.
The BA International Fellowships are two-year Fellowships - however, the eligibility requirements are complex and you are advised to read the guidance on the BA website carefully once this is available. The eligibility requirements are likely to include:
- Have a PhD from a non-UK University, or will have had their viva-voce before 1 June 2027.
- normally no more than five years of full-time postdoc experience, including teaching experience;
- not holding UK citizenship;
- not lived or worked in the UK in the 12 months prior to the application deadline;
- and not already living, working or undertaking research in the UK.
